Bridge of Spies

"Bridge of Spies" is a 2015 American historical drama-thriller film directed by Steven Spielberg, starring with  Tom Hanks,  Mark Rylance,  Amy Ryan and  Alan Alda.  Based on the 1960 U-2 incident during the Cold War, the film tells the story of lawyer James B. Donovan, who is entrusted with negotiating the release of Francis Gary Powers—a pilot whose U-2 spy plane was shot down over the Soviet Union—in exchange for Rudolf Abel, a captive Soviet KGB spy held under the custody of the United States. The name of the film refers to the Glienicke Bridge, which connects Potsdam with Berlin, where the spy exchange took place.  It was a box office success, grossing $165.5 million worldwide and received critical acclaim, garnering praise for its direction, screenplay, acting, score, and production merits. The film received six Academy Award nominations including Best Picture and Best Original Screenplay, and won Best Supporting Actor for Rylance. Cast

Describing a photo.

This photo shows Salerno, a city in Campania. It was taken by a plane. It's a coloured photo, In the background we can see mountains and some houses. On the left there's the motorway that connects Salerno to Reggio Calabria, and it's called A3. On the right there's Tyrrhenian Sea. In the middle there's Salerno with its houses and its buildings. In the foreground there's the harbour of Salerno, that is connected to many cities. I like this picture because it shows a wonderful landscape of Salerno, one of my favourite cities, and it transmits a sense of tranquility.

Holocaust.

Tim Holden says: "The Holocaust illustrates the consequences of prejudice, racism and stereotyping on a society. It forces us to examine the responsibilities of citizenship and confront the powerful ramifications of indifference and inaction." I chose this phrase because it perfectly represents the opinion of a society (the Jews) at the relevant time. I think that you've seen this image many times, but this image represents the desolation and the ingenuity of the people locked up in concentration camps. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http://www.history.com/topics/world-war-ii/the-holocaust/videos/concentration-camp-liberation In this video we can see when Russian troops liberated the Auschwitz camp. Finally, the prisoners could see freedom. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ht
